Marcus ready for Russian champ show , 20 May 55

Canadian Simon Marcus' win against American Joe Schilling in Las Vegas recently has set up a Muay Thai world title showdown against light-heavyweight champion Artem Levin of Russia in Bangkok on June 9 2012.

Marcus had to fight all the way for a majority points win after being knocked down by Schilling in the first round.

Seven WBC Muay Thai world champions will defend their green belt titles against the best challengers in the Battle for the Belts at Muang Thong Thani's Impact Arena on June 9.

Never before have so many Muay Thai world title defences been featured in one championship event that will be televised live across Thailand on Channel 9 with a simultaneous international telecast by IMG.

Three Thai world champions _ Sakeddao Petchapayatai, Jomthong Chuwattana and Big Ben Ch Praram 6 _ will defend their titles.

Super-lightweight champion Sakeddao will be challenged by French superstar Raouf Beliouz, lightweight Jomthong will do battle against in-form Australian sensation Dane Beauchamp, and welterweight Big Ben takes on Europe's top gun Fabio Pinca, the former WBC world champion and Thai Fight finalist.

African-Spaniard WBC world champion Alejedrano Asuma will defend his title against reigning Thai Fight super-welterweight champion Kem Sitsongpeenong.

Kem has beaten the best of European challenges, and is regarded as the most formidable international Muay Thai warrior. To win the WBC world title belt will be Kem's crowning glory.

The world will be watching the main event when undefeated Levin faces Marcus. Marcus won the WMPF world championship in Bangkok and, should he win against Levin, will have capped a remarkable winning streak against the world's best.

Likewise Australian Steven McKinnon, who has held his WBC super-cruiserweight title for several years, faces his ultimate test against Holland's Frank Munoz who is regarded as one of Europe's best Muay Thai fighters.

A triumph against Munoz will enforce McKinnon's reputation and fame as one of the great Muay Thai all-time stars.

The heavyweight world championship features a clash of the titans between Argentina's WBC world title-holder Christian Bosch and Japan's Fabiano Cyclone.

The coming together of these two top heavweights will be a thrilling battle and provides the icing for the seven world titles extravaganza.
