Muay Thai stars lead home hopes in Battle for the Belts : May27th 2012

Muay Thai stars Sakeddao Petchpayatai and Jomthong Chuwattana will lead the local challenge in the Battle for the Belts tournament with seven world titles at stake.
The inaugural event will take place at Muang Thong Thani's Impact Arena on July 9 and feature seven WBC Muay Thai world champions who will defend their crowns.

Super-lightweight champion Sakeddao will fight challenger Raouf Beliouz of France, while lightweight Jomthong will take on Australian sensation Dane Beauchamp.

Welterweight Big Ben of Thailand will face Europe's top gun Fabio Pinca, a former WBC world champion and Thai Fight finalist.

Thai Fight super-welterweight champion Kem Sitsongpeenong of Thailand will challenge Alejedrano Asumu for the super-welterweight belt.

The main event will be the battle between Russia's undefeated light-heavyweight champion Artem Levin and Canadian fighter Simon Marcus, who earned the right to face Levin after beating America's Joe Schilling in the WBC final elimination contest in Las Vegas last week.

Australian Steven McKinnon will meet Frank Munoz of the Netherlands for the super-cruiserweight belt. In the heavyweight world championship, title-holder Christian Bosch will be up against Japan's Fabiano Cyclone.

In a non-title contest, Thailand's rising star Dechbanjong Fairtex will fight compatriot Jingreedtong Seatransferry.

Each bout consists of five three-minute rounds.
